Yatra from Tuesday to Showcase Eastern Ghats’ Tribal Heritage

Visakhapatnam: Vanavasi Kalyana Ashram will showcase the rich social and cultural heritage of tribes dwelling in Eastern Ghats by taking out a yatra from January 25 to February 4.

Ubbeti Nageswarao, leader of Vanavasi Kalyana Ashram Yatra, announced this at a press conference on Saturday. He said the yatra will be a collaboration between the Central Tribal University, Vizianagaram, and the Andhra Pradesh Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram.

"There is a need to bring out the traditional knowledge of tribals and make it useful for development of the country. The trip is being undertaken to showcase the high quality of tribal lifestyle in Eastern Ghats and preserve tribal traditions, culture, and arts for future generations," Nageswarao stated.

He maintained that expounding of tribal values will be an ideal for evolution of a broader society.
