New OGH to come up in 32-acre Goshamahal police stadium; Collector inspects site
Hyderabad: A swanky Osmania General Hospital (OGH) with corporate hospital facilities will be constructed in 32-acre at Goshamahal police stadium soon.
If everything fructifies, the patients, especially those from rural areas in erstwhile Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Medak and other areas from southern Hyderabad can expect treatment akin to the corporate hospital with modern facilities.
State-of-the-art facilities related to all medical departments would be provided in the upcoming OGH hospital, which will be covered with lush green lawns and better road connectivity from all sides of the hospital.
The design of the new OGH would be prepared by the experienced architects, said Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty after inspecting the stadium to take stock of the situation on Friday. Travelling on a bike, he visited the entire stadium to collect first hand information for the construction of the hospital.
He inspected nalas and approach roads connecting the stadium to pave the way for the construction of the hospital building in a hassle-free manner. The existing offices at the stadium would be shifted to the Police Transport Organization (PTO) in Pitlaburz in the old city.
As the stadium was centrally located in the city in the busy Goshamahal area, the administration would take necessary steps to ensure smooth passage to the hospital, Anudeep Durishetty explained, adding that the new hospital would be a role model for Telangana.
