All set for smooth counting of votes polled in Karimnagar LS constituency

Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth counting of votes polled in Karimnagar parliamentary constituency at the SRR Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar.
Counting of votes will be carried out from 8 a.m. onwards in seven halls of the college. Counting personnel in each hall will count votes polled within the seven assembly segments – Karimnagar, Sircilla, Vemulawada, Huzurabad, Manakondur, Choppadandi and Husnabad – coming under the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.
Election commission officials have arranged 116 tables for counting of votes in the seven assembly segments – 18 tables for Karimnagar assembly segment, 14 tables each for the other six assembly segments, and 14 tables for counting the postal ballots.
To ensure that the counting process is carried out on a transparent note, authorities have installed CCTV cameras inside and outside the counting centres.
Karimnagar district collector Pamela Satpathy has ordered counting personnel to arrive by 7 a.m. at the counting centres on the counting day of June 4. She said counting of votes polled through EVMs as well as postal votes will start simultaneously.
The collector has ordered electricity department to ensure continuous power supply at the counting centre, apart from internet facilities, so that results can be uploaded from time to time.
Police commissioner Abhishek Mohanty has put in place three-tier security at the counting centre to prevent any untoward incidents.
Counting observer Nazma, accompanied by additional collector Lakshmi Kiran and revenue divisional officer Maheshwar inspected the counting centre on Sunday.
