Hyderabad: BJP MP-elect from Chevella Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Thursday contended that even Congress votes went in favour of BJP candidates in the recent Lok Sabha elections. As per Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s observation, if the BRS vote was only shifted towards the BJP, then the party could not have won eight seats in the state, he said.

Addressing a press conference, he assured that BJP MPs from the state would extend all possible support to the Congress government and try to get maximum Central funds for the Telangana’s overall development.

“Although the Congress unleashed a false campaign and poisoned the minds of minorities during the Lok Sabha election campaign, the BJP government at the Centre will adopt an inclusive approach. The Congress must support the women’s reservation bill”, he said.

Listing out his personal priorities, Reddy said that he would persuade the state government to take up land acquisition to complete the Hyderabad-Bijapur road, get more stops for MMTS trains, seek the assistance of the national council for building material to process waste material from Shahabad stone industries in Tandur and take up tourism projects with `100 crore assistance from the tourism ministry to develop Vikarabad hills. The BJP activists will conduct a survey in the constituency to ensure that all those eligible will benefit from the PM Awas Yojana and Ayushman Bharat schemes, he said.

The BJP leader said that he would urge the state government to adopt a scientific approach for Musi river cleaning and for undertaking repairs at Medigadda.

He attributed his victory to the collective efforts of different wings of BJP and the support extended by MRPS.

The BJP will urge its workers to spearhead wins of 7,000 ward members and 700 sarpanchs in the upcoming local body elections in Chevella, he said.
