Hyderabad: A 19-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in New Bhavaninagar Colony, Jawaharnagar, on Tuesday.

According to Jawaharnagar ASI Idris Ali, the deceased was a second-year degree student and her parents are working as laborers in the city. The girl's mother, Harika, filed a complaint with the police regarding the incident.

The girl reportedly returned home around 4 pm and went to the washroom. Around 6 pm, her mother rushed her to a hospital after neighbours informed her of the situation. According to the neighbors, tuition students who arrived at the house at approximately 4.45 pm found the girl unconscious. She was taken to a city hospital, where she passed away during treatment.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that a failre in love might have led to the suicide. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Woman attacks dermatologist, held

Hyderabad:The Jubilee Hills police on Wednesday registered a case against a woman for allegedly attacking and abusing a dermatologist at her clinic on Tuesday.

Inspector Venkateshwarulu identified the accused as Tanveer Begum, a resident of Banjara Hills, and the victim as Dr Harshita, a native of Tamil Nadu.

According to the police, Tanveer has been getting her 32-year-old daughter treated at her clinic since 2023. The total treatment fee was `2,19,000, of which Tanveer had paid only `1 lakh. During her visits, the clinic’s receptionist reportedly asked her to settle the remaining amount.

Enraged, Tanveer allegedly broke the center table and a computer at the clinic and threw objects at the doctor. She also reportedly verbally abused Dr Harshita after asking her daughter to wait downstairs.

Police registered a case against Tanveer under Sections 354, 323 and 427 of the IPC and Section 4 of the Medical Act.
