In a dramatic rescue operation, Jaipur Police successfully saved a youth named Anuj, who was kidnapped on August 18 from Nahargarh Fort and held hostage in a hotel in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. Five individuals, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the crime, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend an additional suspect.

Anuj, a resident of Brahmpuri in Jaipur, had gone to Nahargarh hills with his friend Soni when the kidnappers, mistaking him for someone from a wealthy family due to his attire, abducted him. The kidnappers bound and gagged Anuj, assaulted his friend, and left him behind as they drove Anuj to Himachal Pradesh.

The kidnappers later demanded a ransom of INR 20 lakh from Anuj’s family, who immediately informed the police. Police teams were deployed, and the phone numbers used by the kidnappers were tracked, despite their efforts to constantly change locations.

In a critical moment during the investigation, the kidnappers instructed Anuj's family to drop the ransom money near Dharampur railway station. Police, who had strategically positioned teams along the train route, arrested an individual at the drop-off point. Interrogation led to the arrest of the other accomplices in Solan.

The mastermind behind the kidnapping, identified as Virendra Singh, a software engineer, was among those arrested. The other suspects include Vinod Singh, Amit Kumar, Jitendra Bhandari, and Jamuna Sarkar.

Anuj was finally rescued from the hotel on August 27. A video of the rescue, in which officers are seen waking Anuj and reassuring him of his safety, has since gone viral. The Jaipur Police’s swift and coordinated response has been widely praised, with investigations continuing to bring the remaining suspect to justice.
