Bhopal: The local administration here on Thursday sealed a private school where a three-year-old girl student was allegedly raped by a teacher six days ago.

Bhopal sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Archana Sharma said that the school has been sealed and the process to cancel the affiliation of the school has been initiated.

A special investigation team (SIT) headed by a female police officer in the rank of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) has been constituted to probe the incident and is expected to submit its report within two days, the officer said.

In a related development, a group of people including the parents of the students on Thursday staged protests at the school demanding ‘exemplary’ punishment to the accused in the case.

The protest later turned violent with some of the demonstrators vandalising the signboard of the school.

Chief minister Mohan Yadav has earlier taken serious note of the incident and ordered chief secretary Veer Rana to take up the matter with the chief justice of Madhya Pradesh high court to ensure that trial in the case is held in a special fast track court.

According to the police, the incident took place in a private school in Bhopal on September 13 and the mother of the victim reported the matter to the police the next day.

Based on the complaint by the mother of the alleged victim, a FIR was filed, police said.

Police quoting the alleged victim said that the incident took place near the wash room in the school.

The accused has been identified as Qasim Rehan (35), the computer teacher of the school, police said.

The accused has been arrested.

The SIT constituted to probe the incident will also investigate if there were any other victims of the alleged sex predator.
