Odisha to Maharashtra Ganja Smuggling Ring Busted

Hyderabad:The Balanagar special operations team (SOT), along with the Shamirpet police, arrested four persons, Bajrang and Gajendra Singh, and their friends Naresh Kumar Chingla and Kapil Sharma, for trafficking 243 kg of dry ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra, and seized the contraband.

Rakesh, the main receiver of Maharashtra, and Subash from Odisha, the supplier, are absconding.

Police said Bajrang ran a cargo packers and movers business in the city, and Singh, mobile phone repair shop. Bajrang knew one Balaram, who was sentenced to 10 years in jail for a drug smuggling case. He used Balaram’s phone to get in touch with Rakesh, the receiver.

Together with Singh and the two friends, who invested money, Bajrang travelled to Kalimela, Malkangiri in Odisha, purchased the ganja from Subash and were travelling via the city when they were arrested.
