Thieves Steal 7 Tolas of Gold at Knife Point

Suryapet:Thieves robbed seven tolas of gold ornaments, five tolas of silver and Rs 50,000 from a house at Vellatoor of Mellacheruvu mandal at knife point. According to the police, five thieves wearing masks knocked the door of Thammishetti Venkaiah house at 3 am on Thursday.

When Venkataiah opened the door, they barged into the house and threatened the family members with knives. The thieves searched in the house and robbed gold and silver ornament worn by the women of the family. They also took away mobile phones. Two daughters of Venkaiah came to his house in the evening to attend a funeral rites of a relative. A dog squad from Suryapet visited the house and collected clues.

SP Sunpreet Singh visited the house and inquired the family members about the incident. He said that seven police teams have been set up to catch the thieves.
