TS DCA Seizes Illegal Medicines from Quacks in Three Separate Raids

Hyderabad: The TS Drugs Control Administration (DCA) said it had seized illegally stocked medicines from quacks in three separate raids at Jeedimetla in the city and in Bhupalpally and Mahbubnagar districts over two days.


Based on credible information, on Tuesday and Wednesday our officials raided the premises of quacks that claimed themselves as 'Rural Medical
Practitioners' and practiced medicine without proper qualifications at their clinics, TS DCA Director-General V.B Kamalasan Reddy said officials had raided Bakkathatla Nagesh at Singampalle, Bhupapally district; Ashok Kumar in Shapurnagar of Jeedimetla; and Jaladhar of Mahbubnagar district and seized substantial quantities of 28 varieties of medicines that they had stocked for sale without a drug licence.

The medicines included antibiotics, steroids, analgesics, cough syrups, anti-ulcer drugs, antidiabetics, antihypertensives. The samples have been sent for analysis.
