For the second consecutive morning, dense fog engulfed Delhi, reducing visibility to zero in several areas and causing significant disruptions in air and rail services. Officials reported that 22 trains were delayed, and 15 flights were diverted due to poor visibility.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that visibility dropped to zero at Palam from 11:30 pm on Friday and at Safdarjung from 12:30 am on Saturday.
At 7 am, visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport was zero, with the Runway Visual Range (RVR) between 100-250 meters under CAT III conditions. CAT III systems allow operations in low-visibility scenarios, but flights not compliant with this technology were affected.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) issued an advisory urging passengers to check with airlines for updates. "Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," DIAL stated in a post on X.
