Oath-Taking Ceremony of 21 New Cardinals
The oath-taking ceremony for the 21 new Cardinals, recently appointed by Pope Francis, marks a historic moment for the global Catholic Church. Among the newly elevated Cardinals is 51-year-old Msgr. George Jacob Koovakad, a distinguished priest from the Syro-Malabar Diocese of Changanacherry, Kerala.
Msgr. Koovakad, known for his pivotal role as the organizer of the Pope’s travels, will now join the ranks of the College of Cardinals.
The new Cardinals will also received the red biretta and the cardinal ring, signifying their new role as close collaborators of the Pope.
