CM Stalin's video calls reveal success stories from the 'Neengal Nalama' scheme, aiding thousands across Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Several beneficiaries of the various people’s welfare schemes implemented by the DMK government told Chief Minister M K Stalin that they were happy with the implementation of the schemes and that they had benefited a lot out of them when he made video calls to them directly and personally enquired about their well-being on Thursday.

The calls were made to the beneficiaries under the ‘Neengal Nalama’ (Are you fine) scheme that was launched on June 3 by the ‘Chief Minister’s Address’ department to ensure that the welfare measures aimed at bringing people living in the brink of society to the socio-economic mainstream were reaching the intended people and in a proper manner.

Chitralekha of Coimbatore exuded satisfaction over the manner in which she could avail of the privileges offered to Scheduled Caste people under the Annal Ambedkar Entrepreneurs Scheme as she received Rs 68,37,000 funds with subsidy from the Chief Minister.

When she approached the local District Industries Centre office for a loan to start the automobile spare part manufacturing unit, she was guided to approach the SC Welfare department that was offering the loan under the special scheme, she told the Chief Minister and thanked for the gesture.

The mother of a differently abled student of National School from Mayiladuthurai, Sanjay, was grateful to the Chief Minister for the Rs 1,500 given to her son and the Rs 1000 assistance to her. She said she was now able to pay a tuition fee of Rs 500 a month to her other son studying in the tenth standard.

When Manikantan of Ranipet met with an accident recently, he was able to take treatment at the MIOT Hospital in Chennai, thanks to the health insurance scheme, ‘Innyuir Kappom, Nammai Kakkum 48’ and sister of Sukanya, a different abled person from Chngalpattu told the Chief Minister how the entire family was now able to take care of it due the schemes.

She said that she was blind and her sister had issues with both her legs, while her nephew was mentally challenged. While she and her sister received Rs 1,500 each as assistance for differently abled persons while the government was paying Rs 2000 for taking care of the nephew.

Sangeetha from Ramanthapuram told Stalin that the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme had helped her and her daughter Krithikashree, studying in the third standard at a primary school in Achakudi as the child despite leaving for school quite early at 8 am was eating a sumptuous breakfast in school.

The objective of the Neengal Nalama scheme is to get feedback from the actual beneficiaries with a view to bringing in appropriate changes in the implementation of the various schemes to expand their scope and usefulness.
