Visakhapatnam: Total 60 individuals who became victims of human trafficking have been rescued so far from Cambodia. Among those rescued, 35 individuals are from north India and 25 from Visakhapatnam. Additionally, 24 individuals are from districts including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, Tuni and Godavari. One individual rescued is from Bengaluru. Cybercrime circle inspector Bhawani Shankar told Deccan Chronicle that efforts are underway to rescue 40 more individuals in coordination with the Indian Embassy in Cambodia. The rescued individuals had been forced to skim Rs 120 crore from Indian individuals over the past two years, with the FedEx scam reported on Friday. Visakhapatnam MP candidate Botsa Jhansi expressed concern over the incident. She urged the Ministry of External Affairs to rescue people from both Cambodia and Kyrgyzstan. She commended the Visakhapatnam police commissionerate for its efforts in dismantling the human trafficking racket and safely bringing 60 individuals home. Ends/RS
