KAKINADA: East Godavari police have arrested four persons – Sunkara Satish alias Siva of G. Pedapudi village in P. Gannavaram mandal of Konaseema district, Kommireddy Durga of Ramavaram village in Jaggampeta mandal of Kakinada district, Nakka Nagendra Kumar alias Potti of Ramavaram village and Nelluri Lova Raju of Ramavaram village – on charges of stealing copper wires and other important equipment from transformers of agricultural borewells belonging to farmers.

Police recovered from them 26 copper rods weighing 1.5 kilos to 2 kilos each, 100 kilos of copper wire, a van and two bikes.

When Shiva had been carrying copper wire rods in a van to sell them in Vijayawada, the investigation team personnel intercepted the vehicle at Devarapalli junction on Tuesday and started making inquiries, leading to busting of the case.

Devarapalli police have registered a case.
