Hindu Mahasabha worker caught offering Gangajal at Taj Mahal; incident sparks debates on security and historical significance

Agra: Two members of the Hindu Mahasabha, were caught pouring Gangajal at the grave at a grave inside the premises of the famous Taj Mahal, said the CISF officials who caught the two executing the act and apprehended them informed.
CISF officials are responsible for the security at the Taj Mahal. They perform body searches and scan bags as people enter the premises as well as ensure smooth flow of tourist within. Reports indicate that Vinesh and Shyam smuggled Gangajal into Taj Mahal inside a Bisleri bottle.
Social media has a video showing a man pouring water over what looks like a grave. The incident has sparked many online discussions and debates.
In another incident, on Monday morning, Meera Rathore who is the district president of All India Hindu Mahasabha Women’s Front came with a Kanwar containing Gangajal to the Taj Mahal. However, the police stopped her when she approached the barrier from the western gate.
Rathore claimed that the Tejo Mahalaya is a temple of Lord Shiva and that she had come to offer Gangajal on the Shivling.
