GHMC Misses SNDP Deadline, Urges Staggered IT Logouts for Rainy Days

Hyderabad: The GHMC after missing the deadline to execute the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) has urged IT companies to implement staggered office logout timings when it rains heavily, so as to reduce the rush of traffic on the roads.

The GHMC said in a press release that it had urged IT companies to logout sequentially by co-ordinating among themselves during downpours. Meanwhile, gearing up for the monsoon, the state government has pressed into service monsoon emergency teams.


Government departments will deploy 534 monsoon emergency teams. The GHMC will deploy 157 mobile and 242 static teams, besides 29 units on main roads and 30 Disaster Response Force (DRF) squads.


In addition, the police will deploy 13 teams, the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited 41 and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) 22.


GHMC in a press release said that 125 water stagnation points across the city had been removed permanently by taking up civil works. Works were underway to resolve issues at 32 other points. The corporation also urged people not to open drainage lids.
