Hyderabad: BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has been invited for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third term at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
According to a news release by the BRS, Chandrashekar Rao received a phone call from senior BJP leader and former Union minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday requesting the BRS chief to be present at the ceremony. Modi is scheduled to take oath on Sunday as Prime Minister for the third straight term and lead a National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre.
At the time of going to print, there was no confirmation whether Rao would be going to the ceremony, or would depute a party official to the event. Rao, when in power, had refused to meet Prime Minister Modi for some years.
