Hyderabad: Information technology minister D. Sridhar Babu shared his vision to foster a strong culture in Telangana for sustainable development of the IT and industries sectors to drive innovation and create employment opportunities, while participating in an ATA business seminar at Atlanta in the USA on Sunday.

Sridhar Babu said that the government intended to make growth inclusive by inviting small and medium enterprises to Hyderabad and Telangana and not be limited to large companies. Building centres of excellence for semiconductors and medical devices sectors was another part of the plan.

He noted that despite the focus on semiconductors, not a single company had come forward to set up a unit and said the government was working to improve the situation.

He said government policies around education and health infrastructure were being improved to ensure inclusive development. Setting up of an AI city with a vision of making Hyderabad the artificial intelligence capital of the world was another focus area. “The government has allocated 200 acres to catalyse AI growth and support mid-tier and smaller companies," the minister said.
Sridhar Babu invited business leaders to participate in the growth story of Telangana, especially in the rural areas, and promised complete support. He also invited American Indian diaspora to the Global AI Summit to be held in Hyderabad in September.
