Hyderabad: Manda Krishna Madiga, founder president of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), on Thursday demanded that the Telangana State Public Service Commission implement the apex court order on categorisation of Scheduled Castes for jobs and education in Group-I before releasing the results.

He pointed out that Chief Ministers of the Telugu states, A. Revanth Reddy and Nara Chandrababu Naidu, had promised to implement the Supreme Court’s order on the categorization.

Krishna Madiga was participating a meet the press programme organised by the Telangana Union of Working Journalists here on Thursday. He said the MRPS had fought for the SC categorisation for 30 years; now, it would fight for implementation of the Supreme Court order to secure reservations for Madiga and other suppressed castes among the SCs. "During the movement, the MRPS and its cadre faced a tough time and developed MRPS into a strong organisation along the lines of the political party. We will not stop our movement, we will extend our support to BCs for their meaningful demand for reservations in legislatures and work for the rights of SCs, STs and BCs in the country," Krishna Madiga said.

He thanked the BJP-led NDA government at the center for forming a committee on the SC categorisation to speed up the trial on this matter in the apex court.
