NTR district collector warns hospitals over illegal patient charges under the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust Scheme

Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G. Srijana has issued a stern warning to private hospitals affiliated with the state government’s Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust Scheme.

These hospitals, which are supposed to provide free healthcare services to the poor, have been caught charging patients illegally.

During a District Discipline Committee meeting, Srijana levied fines on several network hospitals that violated the scheme’s guidelines.

She personally reviewed complaints from patients, seeking explanations from the hospitals and verifying the allegations.

“The Aarogyasri scheme is meant to ensure that the poor have access to quality healthcare without financial burden,” Srijana stated.

Any hospital that abuses this trust will face severe consequences. The collector emphasised that network hospitals must adhere to the scheme’s rules and regulations. She instructed officials to remain vigilant and take immediate action against any instances of malpractice.Dr M. Suhasini (DMHO), Dr B.C.K. Nayak (DCHS), Dr J. Suman (Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust district coordinator), and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
