Hyderabad: Another illegal structure built by former minister Ch Malla Reddy at the full tank level (FTL) of a lake was demolished by officials of the irrigation and revenue departments on Friday.

Recently the authorities had demolished illegal structures at Malla Reddy Aeronautical College in Dundigal and an illegal road leading to Malla Reddy Engineering College in the Gundla Pochampally Municipality. A police case was also booked against him for encroaching into a land parcel, whose title was under dispute, at Suchitra.

According to sources, the BRS leader and a few other persons had built walls around a 25-acre land parcel in Survey No. 408 that fell under the FTL of Pedda Cheruvu, Bommarasipet in Medchal.

The construction of any concrete structure in an area that comes under FTL is illegal.

“While Malla Reddy barricaded a seven-acre portion, his associates barricaded the remaining area in the 25-acre land parcel. The walls were built during the BRS regime. However, they were demolished now,” he said.

Malla Reddy along with his son-in-law and BRS Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekar Reddy have unsuccessfully tried to meet Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy several times
