PM Modi: BJP is going to retain power at Centre with absolute majority
‘A coterie of officers responsible for Naveen Patnaik’s deterioration of health,’ Modi
BARIPADA/BALASORE (ODISHA): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the voters in the country have already decided to give a massive mandate to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and there will be once again a stable and progressive government at the Centre.
“After five decades, the people of India are going to return a party for the third consecutive term with an absolute majority. This is an attestation of the people’s faith in our good governance, forward-looking policies and delivery of public services,” Modi said while addressing separate poll rallies in Mayurbhanj and Balasore parliamentary constituencies.
Like in all his poll rallies, the PM devoted some minutes to his government’s economic reforms that catapulted the country from the 11th rank to the fifth rank among the world economies. He announced that India would shortly emerge as the world’s third largest economic power.
The PM also retold the stories on his government’s story in poverty alleviation, providing free rice to the poor people, gas cylinders to women and economic empowerment of female folks through schemes like Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
Stating that he heard from his associates that Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s health had deteriorated to a great extent in the past one year, the PM said many people suspected that a coterie of top officers surrounding him were responsible for the development.
The PM asserted that the people of Odisha decided to put a full-stop to the present Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government.
“The BJD has already ruled the state for 25 years. People are fed up with the present corrupt government and now they have decided to elect a BJP government. After coming to power in the state, the BJP government will order a probe into the persons who are responsible for deterioration of CM Naveen Patnaik’s health. Besides, the new government will investigate all the scams and scandals in the state,” the PM announced.
Modi said culprits involved in the looting of Odisha’s resources and money of small depositors will be arrested and all their booties will be recovered.
In order to woo the tribal voters and women, the PM said President Droupadi Murmu who hails from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district is an example of the party’s effort to women empowerment.
“Your daughter (President Droupadi Murmu) is now heading the three commands of India’s defence establishment. She is the symbol of BJP’s commitment to uplift women, socially and economically,” he observed.
