Pawan Kalyan named Deputy CM in Naidu’s cabinet, Lokesh is IT minister

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has allotted portfolios to two dozen ministers of his Cabinet on Saturday, with the deputy chief minister post going to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.

Pawan Kalyan will handle the departments of panchayat raj, rural development and rural water supply, environment, forest, science & technology.

Naidu will hold the portfolios of general administration, law & order, public enterprises and all other portfolios not allocated to other Cabinet ministers.

Nara Lokesh is the mnister for human resources, Information & Technology (IT), and communications, including RTG. Notably, there were five deputy CMs in the YSRC government.

P. Narayana, founder of the Narayana Group of educational institutions who was a minister in the TD government between 2014 and 2019, has again been allocated the portfolios of urban development and municipal administration.

A women leader was the home minister during the YSRC government. Similarly, Naidu allotted home affairs to Anitha Vangalapudi who would also handle disaster management. Pyyavula Keshav, a first-time minister, has been entrusted with finance, planning, commercial taxes and legislative affairs.

State TD president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu will handle agriculture, co-operation, marketing, animal husbandry, dairy development & fisheries.

A senior leader of Jana Sena, Nadendla Manohar, gets food & civil supplies and consumer affairs. Kollu Ravindra got mines & geology and excise portfolios.

As for the BJP, Satya Kumar Yadav, the lone party representative in the Naidu Cabinet, gets health, medical welfare & medical education portfolios. Nimmala Ramanaidu has been assigned the water resources department.

Senior legislator Nasyam Mohammed Farooq will handle law & justice and minority welfare.

In the 2014 Cabinet, Naidu did not induct any minority leader in his Cabinet. The endowments portfolio has been entrusted to Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, who previously served as a minister in the Congress government in united AP.

Kolusu Parthasarathy who went into TD from YSRC and won as Nuzivid MLA got housing and Information & Public Relations. Revenue, Registration & Stamps portfolios were allotted to Anagani Satyaprasad.

The departments of social welfare, disabled and senior citizen welfare; Sachivalayam & village volunteer would be handled by Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy.

Gottipati Ravi Kumar will be responsible for energy, Kandula Durgesh will handle tourism, culture & cinematography, and Gummadi Sandhya Rani will be the women & child welfare as also tribal welfare minister.

The roads & buildings and infrastructure & investments portfolios have been assigned to B.C. Janardhan Reddy, while T.G. Bharath will oversee the industries and commerce and food processing departments.

S. Savitha has been given the departments of BC Welfare, economically weaker sections welfare, handlooms & textiles. Vasamsetti Subhash gets labour, factories, boilers and insurance medical services.

Kondapalli Srinivas will handle MSME, SERP, and NRI empowerment & relations, and Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy will oversee the departments of transport, youth and sports.
