Six-year-old boy mauled to death by strays in Patancheru

Hyderabad: Stray dogs in Patancheru mandal went on a rampage and mauled a six-year-old boy to death and severely injured an eight-month-old girl in separate incidents that happened in places located 5 km apart.

When the boy, Vishal went to answer relieve himself near a dump yard in Isnapur near the construction site where his parents, Bihar natives, work, three dogs attacked him and bit his neck. The incident occurred at around 6.30 am on Friday.

Vishal died on the spot. His body was shifted to the government hospital in Patancheru for postmortem. Police have booked a case into the incident.

In another incident that occurred three hours later, a dog injured the infant Swathi by biting her on the head. She was sleeping in an under-construction independent house located in Muthangi village, Patancheru mandal. Her parents, construction labourers belonging to Andhra Pradesh, work in the same site.

Swathi is undergoing treatment in Niloufer Hospital. "Her condition is stable and she is out of danger,” said a Patancheru police official.
