Khammam: Samudrala Lakshmi Bhavani Keerthi, a student at BC Welfare Hostel School, is experiencing paralysis in her leg and hand after a rat bite.
A recent report by a team of doctors revealed that Keerthi has high protein levels in her cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), necessitating treatment.
District medical and health officer Dr B. Kalavathi announced that a medical team, led by herself, personally examined Keerthi at Mamatha Hospital, where she is receiving care.
After the rat bite on February 29 at the BC Welfare Hostel in Danavaigudem, doctors from Manchukonda Hospital administered three doses of anti-rabies injections and a Tetanus Toxoid (TT) injection to Keerthi.
Following the initial treatment, Keerthi's parents sought additional medical assistance at a homeopathy hospital. She also got treatment at Vijaya Skin and Laser Clinic for hair fall and was treated for fever approximately a month ago.
