Hyderabad: Cabinet meeting to approve Budget 2024-25 begins in Assembly Committee hall. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, ministers attended the meeting. The Congress-led government will introduce the vote-on account budget in the Assembly today.
The Telangana budget is scheduled to be presented in the Assembly on February 10 at 12 noon, as announced by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Friday. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka is set to introduce the budget in the Assembly.
Former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao will attend the Assembly for the first time as the Opposition leader today.
After the presentation of Budget, the House is adjourned to Monday
For the financial year 2024-25, total expenditure estimate is pegged at Rs.2,75,891 crore, revenue expenditure at Rs.2,01,178 crore, capital expenditure at Rs.29,669 crore

The government would recruit 15,000 police constables in the near future. Over 64 Group-I posts would be filled very soon
The Congress government had already appointed 6,956 nursing officers soon as it assumed power. Over Rs.11,500 crore has been proposed for medical and health sector in the Budget
Over Rs. 500 crore is proposed in this budget for infrastructure facilities to all the Universities including Osmania
University in the State. The Budget proposes Rs.21,389 crore for the education sector
To set up Telangana Public Schools on pilot basis, Rs 500 crore has been proposed in the Budget
