Nizamabad: Nizamabad rural MLA, R. Bhupathi Reddy, has said the emblem of the Telangana Government will be finalised after discussion in the state assembly.

Speaking to the media at Congress Bhavan on Friday, the Congress MLA said the government would take opinions of all sections of the people in this respect. He was referring to criticism from the BRS against likely exclusion of the image of Charminar from the new emblem.

He said, “There is no moral right to BRS leader KT Rama Rao to raise objections. Did his party chief, KCR, know the reason behind the construction of Charminar,” he asked.

Charminar was built in 1591 after the pandemic in Hyderabad that had killed many,” he said.

“Chief minister Revanth Reddy wants to reflect the sacrifices of the Telangana people in the state’s official emblem. The armed struggle against the Nizam government and the first and second phases of the Separate Telangana movement showcase the sacrifices of the Telangana people,” he said.

He said the Telangana martyrs column will be included in the official emblem. “Grand celebrations will be organised on the occasion of a decade of formation of Telangana on June 2. Congress leader

Sonia Gandhi, who gave her nod for the Telangana state along with Hyderabad as its capital, will attend the event as chief guest.”

“In the past 10 years, the people experienced the feudalistic rule of the BRS in Telangana. KCR who headed the government handed over the Kaleshwaram project works to an Andhra-based contractor. But he raises his meaningless objection over a song composed by an Andhra-native music director for the Telangana anthem,” he said.
