Telangana Power Officials Suspended for Abusing Consumers

TGNPDCL suspends two officials in Hanamkonda for abusing consumers. Incident came to light after a recorded call was posted on social media

Warangal: The Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) on Saturday suspended two officials for abusing consumers while discharging their duties here in Hanamkonda district.

The Warangal circle superintendent engineer P. Madhusudhan Rao suspended Azam Jahi Mills colony assistant engineer M. Jyothirmainath and Gorrekunta sub-engineer D. Naresh for their indecent behaviour with customers and for using unparliamentary language.

Karunakar Reddy, a resident of Kashibugga, called electricity office to check on interruption in power supply in the sub-station limits of O-City under Warangal circle. AE Jyothirmainath and sub-engineer D. Naresh instead of looking into the problems, abused the consumer. Reddy who recorded the audio call posted it on social media.

After learning about the incident, SE of Warangal circle Madhusudhan Rao issued orders suspending both the officials.

He said since it is rainy season, there will be some problems in power supply and interruption may occur at various places. Officials must be alert while discharging their duties and should behave politely with the customers

If a consumer calls electricity offices, officials must receive the phone calls and respond immediately. Actions will be taken against officials who misbehave with people, he warned.
