Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that the Congress government will fashion a fourth city in Mucherla in addition to the existing tri-cities of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Cyberabad.

Speaking in the Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister unveiled his vision for a new city of international standards and housing a Skill University, Sports University, and a Medical and Health Hub, apart from others. “The previous BRS government acquired thousands of acres of lands in Mucherla for the setting up of a pollution-causing Pharma City. But the Congress government will turn these lands into an international hub for economic and development activities,” the Chief Minister said.

Revanth Reddy said his government would soon come up with new policies for agriculture, sports, IT, industry and energy. “These will together act as an economic growth engine for Telangana,” he said, adding that Mucherla would focus on all these activities.

Participating in a discussion on the status of Pharma City lands in Mucherla acquired by the BRS government, he said, “No legal complication will arise if the Pharma City lands are reassigned for other purposes. K.T. Rama Rao made a speech in the Assembly today to mislead the people. We have not completed even one year in power. The proposed Young India Skill University will come up in those lands,” he said.

The Chief Minister said a health tourism hub would come up in 1,000 acres. The sports university will give impetus to this field and help veer the youth away from drugs and other evils. Even smaller countries are bagging medals and we are happy if we get a bronze medal,” he rued.

He said a golf club will be set up there on 200 acres of land.”

The Chief Minister said, “The BRS government did not allocate even two acres sought by the Centre to expand MMTS from Umdanagar to Lingampally.”

“An artificial intelligence hub will come up in 200 acres. We have planned all these in just seven months of our government. The BRS only had a liquor policy. I hoped KCR would come to this house and give us valuable suggestions."

"By attacking us, K.T. Rama Rao is aiming to gain political brownie points. If there are good policies we welcome them. We have adopted and improved on the policies of N. Chandrababu Naidu and developed Hyderabad by giving impetus to IT, we are bringing

Krishna and Godavari waters to Hyderabad. We are ready to take good suggestions from any side,” he said.

Discussing the AI policy, Revanth Reddy took potshots at BRS working president Rama Rao and said, “He is 100 per cent artificial with zero intelligence.

Referring to the provision for employment of power loom workers in Sircilla, he said, “The BRS government had brought sarees from Surat. Payments of `275 crore for these workers were kept

pending by the last government. We cleared a payment of Rs 100 crore to them after we took power.”
