TTD EO wants district SP to act against brokers in Tirumala

Tirupati; Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has called for stringent measures against middlemen deceiving devotees seeking darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
At a high-level meeting held on Wednesday in Tirupati, TTD executive officer (EO) J. Syamala Rao requested the district superintendent of police Harshavardhan Raju to identify the brokers and take legal action against them.
During the meeting, the EO stressed that such fraudulent activities by brokers, who exploit devotees seeking accommodation, darshan, and seva tickets, cannot be overlooked.
The police department presented a comprehensive overview of various cases related to darshan brokers in Tirumala. This included online scams, issues related to dip system, thefts, and fake websites targeting devotees.
Following this, Syamala Rao instructed police officials to ensure that brokers face legal consequences within a week. He emphasised on the importance of holding regular meetings between TTD vigilance and police departments to expedite resolution of such cases.

The meeting was attended by key officials including Tirupati SP Harshavardhan Raju, TTD joint executive officers V. Veerabrahmam and M. Goutami, Tirumala additional SP Vimala Kumari, DSP Srinivasachari, and TTD VGO (Vigilance) Giridhar Rao, among others.
