Sangareddy: Two persons were killed and a 12-year-old boy rescued after a two-hour effort on the Hyderabad-Zaheerabad highway on Sunday, after their car was hit by an oil tanker from the rear and another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased were identified as Mrithnjay Dube, 45, oil tanker driver, and Samreen, 45, of Unhal of Bijapur district in Karnataka.

According to sources, Haji Shabaz of Unhal in Karnataka had come to Hyderabad along with his wife Samreen and sons Junaid and Abdullah and were returned home in the car. The accident occurred at the Nagsanpally chowrasta near Nandi Kandi.

While Samreen, travelling in the car, died, Haji Shabaz, Junaid and Abdullah were rescued by the police. Abdulla’s legs were stuck in the debris and it took about two hours to extricate him safely.

Sadashivapet police registered a case and shifted bodies for post-mortem. It is believed that negligent and rash driving of oil tanker led to the fatal accident.
