Cybercrime police arrested Vijay Deverakanda for defamatory videos targeting Manchu Vishnu and MAA, sparking controversy
Hyderabad: The city cybercrime police arrested YouTuber Vijay Chandrahasan Deverakanda for allegedly defaming Tollywood actor Manchu Vishnu and his production house. Police released Devarakanda after serving a notice to record his statement.
Cybercrime inspector K. Madhu Latha said that Deverakanda was allegedly continuously targeting, trolling, harassing, and defaming Manchu.
The YouTuber was accused of spreading hate and derogatory statements against Manchu, on his YouTube channel. Police said Devarakanda had allegedly posted fictitious videos, containing foul language and derogatory statements against some actors, actresses, and others associated with the film industry, particularly targeting the Movie Artists Association (MAA) and Manchu.
The cybercrime police has procured the accused's YouTube channels, video URLs, and other social media handles for investigation. Manju Latha said the police booked a case on Devarakanda after investigating a complaint lodged by Siva Balaji, treasurer of MAA.
