Visakhapatnam Student Found Dead in Canada

Visakhapatnam:A student from Vizag was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Canada. The deceased, identified as Pilli Phani Kumar, 36, hailed from the Gajuwaka area in Vizag and was pursuing studies in Supply Chain Management and a Professional Certificate in Project Management at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary.

Phani Kumar’s father, Naga Prasad, stated that he received a call on December 14 from his son’s roommate, a truck driver, who informed him of the tragic incident. The roommate reported finding Phani Kumar dead in their shared accommodation. However, no further details regarding the cause of death were provided.

The Calgary police have reportedly taken custody of Phani Kumar’s belongings, including his laptop, passport, and body, but have yet to clarify the circumstances of his death.

The bereaved family is appealing to Visakhapatnam MP Bharat and the district collector for assistance in repatriating Phani Kumar’s body to his hometown for final rites.
