No Privileges to Film Industry Till I Am CM: Revanth
Hyderabad: In a fiery speech in Telangana Assembly, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Saturday declared that there would be no privileges to the film industry in the State if such incidents occur.
“Until I am Chief Minister, I will not allow any privileges to the film industry,” he made it clear. Responding to Sandhya 70 MM theatre stampede incident raised by MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy said the film industry could ask for incentives and subsidies but there cannot be so inhuman when a boy, who is brain dead, lost his mother and undergoing treatment in a corporate hospital.
Explaining circumstances that led to the stampede, he said a galaxy of film personalities made a beeline to Allu Arjun’s house after he was released from Chanchalguda prison. “Allu Arjun did suffer any injury on his hand or leg in an accident but film personalities went to his house to console him. But none of the personalities came to the hospital to express solidarity to the boy, who is still battling for life in the hospital,” he said.
Stating that the stampede took place when the private security personnel started pushing the crowd after Allu Arjun came to the theatre waving from the car’s sunroof, he said boy’s father hailing from Malakpet Assembly constituency was earning a salary of Rs.30,000 and purchased four tickets for Rs.12,000 for watching Pushpa-2 premiere show at Sandhya theatre on December 4.
In an oblique reference to a few politicians, who claimed to be fought an agitation for separate Telangana and worked as a Minister for 10 years, Revanth Reddy wondered how can such politicians to be so careless in posting on ‘X’ in support of Allu Arjun after the arrest of the actor who was an accused number-11 in the stampede incident.
He said he was personally monitoring the health condition of the boy in coordination with the departments concerned and found fault with the film industry for its lethargic response towards the nine-year-old boy.
