SC cancels land allotments to Hyderabad societies

Hyderabad: In a major setback for housing societies of public officials and journalists in Hyderabad, the Supreme Court has cancelled land allotments made by the state government.

The court, led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, found the allotments to be illegal and ordered the government to return the money paid by the societies.
