MoS for Defence praises Ordnance Factory Medak's manufacturing prowess

Hyderabad:  Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, lauded the capabilities of Ordnance Factory Medak (OFM), a key production unit of the Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), during his visit on Tuesday. Accompanied by senior officers, including AVNL chairman and managing director Sanjay Dwivedi and OFM chief general manager K. Sudhakar, the minister explored the manufacturing strengths of infantry combat vehicles.

As part of OFM's tradition, Bhatt participated in a tree plantation event within the factory premises.

The visit included a ride in a BMP, an amphibious troop carrier, allowing the minister to experience firsthand life in an infantry combat vehicle.

A presentation showcased AVNL's significant competence in manufacturing, testing, research and development, indigenisation, and export. Minister Bhatt appreciated AVNL OFM's efforts to position itself as a leader in the armoured vehicles segment.

Emphasising the need for progressive modernisation, development, and collaboration in the evolving technological landscape, Bhatt stressed the imperative of confabulating for the exponential growth of AVNL in the competitive global defence market.
