KURNOOL: Ten people suffered injuries on Monday night when an RTC bus overturned and caught fire at Drivers Colony in Kodumur on the suburbs of Kurnool. The RTC bus, belonging to Kurnool-1 depot, had been traveling from Yemmiganur to Kurnool with 30 passengers.
The driver lost control over the bus and hit the divider at the Driver's Colony. As a result, the front wheels of the bus broke and fell away and the bus overturned, catching fire. Locals rescued the passengers. Fire brigade reached the spot and doused the flames. Bus conductor Murtujavali sustained serious injuries to his left hand. Transco vigilance constable Ramudu, home guard Venugopal, Maunika, Jayachandra, Eeranna, and four others were injured.
The injured have been shifted to Kurnool Government Hospital for treatment. Upon receiving information, Kurnool traffic circle inspector Gautami and RTC DM Sudharani inspected the accident spot. Traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
