19-Year-Old Student Killed in Ameerpet Car Crash

Hyderabad: Police arrested a software engineer after her car fatally ran over a 19-year-old student at Maitrivanam crossroads in Ameerpet early on Monday. SR Nagar police identified the victim as M. Prasad, pursuing his first year degree in a private college. “At around 1.50 am on Monday, he was returning from Borabanda on his two-wheeler. At Maitrivanam crossroads, a speeding car rammed into his vehicle from the rear, and he was critically injured,” SR Nagar police said.

The boy was shifted to a private hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment for his injuries. Police said the car was driven by 31-year old software engineer E. Bhavana, and she had been taken into police custody. They also said a case was booked and further investigation is underway.
