Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Special Pocso Court has sentenced two accused to 5 years imprisonment each, along with a fine of Rs 15,000 and compensation of Rs 30,000 to the victim, in a case of sexual assault on a 13-year-old disabled girl.

The incident occurred on January 21, 2016, near the School in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam. The victim was accompanied by her grandmother when two unknown men followed them and sexually assaulted the minor girl.
Following the request of the Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police, higher officers are now required to monitor priority cases until a conviction is reached, and each officer must oversee 5 cases, regularly interacting with station inspectors to ensure an increase in the number of conviction cases every month.
