All set for Bhavani Deeksha Viramana at Durga Temple

VIJAYAWADA: All is set for the five-day Bhavani Deeksha Viramana (relinquishment) from Saturday to Wednesday, December 25, at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam Temple atop the Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada.
Temple authorities, in collaboration with city police, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) and other departments, have made foolproof arrangements to avoid any inconvenience to Bhavani devotees visiting the temple for giving up their deeksha.
Durga Temple executive officer K.S. Rama Rao said free darshan will be provided to all devotees during the five days. There will be no inconvenience for them, as all arjitha sevas have been cancelled during the deeksha relinquishment.
The EO said devotees will be allowed to have darshan of the Goddess starting from 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. On the remaining days, devotees can have darshan from 3 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Over half a million devotees from various parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh are expected to visit the temple during the next five days for the Deeksha Viramana.
Queue lines have been erected starting from the Vinayaka Swamy Temple, along with Irumudi stands. Elaborate arrangements have been made at Padmavathi, Bhavani and other ghats, along with installation of bath showers and changing rooms for men and women. Additionally, Keshakandana Shalas for Bhavani devotees have been set up at Seetamma Vari Padalu.
About 20 lakh laddus will be made available to devotees at the prasadam counters.
Police department has deployed 4,600 personnel to ensure security during the five-days.
