Vijaywada:Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana held significant meetings in New Delhi with senior officials and industry leaders to take some of AP’s plans forward.

Among others, he held discussions with the CEO of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, Sanjay Kulshreshtha and chairman of Jindal SAW Ltd, Prithavi Raj Jindal.

Narayana said the primary focus of the discussions was to expedite the process of loan sanctioning for the state capital projects in Amaravati. HUDCO had agreed to extend a loan of `11,000 crore. The modalities of this were discussed at the present meeting.

He said the government is keen on ensuring the timely completion of key infrastructural projects in Amaravati.

Discussion also touched on the plans to erect waste-to-energy plants. The Jindal SAW Ltd has set up two such plants in Guntur and Visakhapatnam. The firm aims to set up more waste-to-energy plants across the state, PR Jindal told Narayana.

This is part of the state's broader initiative to address waste management challenges while simultaneously generating clean energy, the minister added.
