Amitava Mukherjee appointed as CMD of NMDC

Hyderabad: The Public Enterprise Selection Board of the Centre’s department of personnel and training has selected Amitava Mukherjee as chairman and managing director of National Mineral Development Corporation, a Navratna public sector enterprise. The PESB interviewed nine members for the post.

Mukherjee, a 1995 batch Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, is presently director (finance) at NMDC. Under his leadership, the company made a landmark in production with 45M MT iron ore in the current fiscal year, according to a statement.
