YSRC leader and former deputy chief minister Amzad Basha criticised the coalition government for withdrawing the G.O. issued to set up the Wakf Board. Speaking to the media at Kadapa on Sunday, he said that the Wakf Board members were appointed following the guidelines in all categories in 2023, and the TD had moved the court and filed three petitions when the chairman was about to be elected.

The matter is still pending in the court, and how can the Board be cancelled, he asked, adding that the coalition government had withdrawn the G.O. only to forcibly take away Wakf lands. He also mentioned that the reason cited for the cancellation was that the Board had been dissolved due to its non-functioning. "When the matter is in court, how can there be any activity?" he asked.
"Unlike Chandrababu, we did not cancel the Board in 2023. The members left on their own, but the coalition has done it with vengeance," he said, adding that they would take legal recourse.
Basha also stated that minorities are opposed to the Wakf Board (Amendment) Bill of the Centre.
