 Visakhapatnam: In accordance with the Andhra Pradesh State Aquaculture Development Authority Act of 2020, the fisheries department issued a statement on Tuesday stating that a license is now mandatory for establishing fish ponds in Parvathipuram district.

According to district officer P. Thirupathaiah, those planning to set up fish ponds in the district must obtain a license by submitting an online application through the village fisheries assistant. The application process requires a fee of Rs 1000 per acre, an AutoCAD map issued by the Mandal Surveyor, a land revenue adangal, a land passbook or lease agreement, a bond paper of Rs 10, and an affidavit stating their commitment to construct 80 per cent net pond and 20 per centridges.

Eligible applications will be reviewed by district and mandal-level committees, and licenses will be granted accordingly.
