Visakhapatnam: Minister of tribal welfare and women and child welfare Gummidi Sandhya Rani and Parvathipuram Manyam district collector A. Shyam Prasad participated in pension distribution on Thursday.

The minister visited multiple locations, including Yerukala Veedhi in the 24th ward, Chinna Kummari Street in the 18th ward of Saluru Municipality, Jeegiram in Salur Mandal, and Yerukala Veedhi in Pachipenta Mandal headquarters. Meanwhile, the collector visited Maripivalasa and Surampeta Grama Panchayats in Seethanagaram mandal.

Sandhya Rani highlighted that pensions were being delivered directly to beneficiaries' doorsteps. The government has allocated Rs 2,737 crore to support 64.82 lakh beneficiaries statewide, with approximately 1,43,398 pensions being distributed within the district. She also noted an increase in the pension amount to Rs 4,000, which she believes will be beneficial to the recipients. The minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the welfare and development of the state. Municipal and mandal-level officials and staff were present for the programme.
