Anantapur: JC Prabhakar Reddy, municipal chairman of Tadipathri and former MLA, would soon shave his long-sported beard at a function in the town by way of ending his vow to keep the beard until the Telugu Desam returned to power.

Prabhakar Reddy had stopped shaving his beard for the past four years. Now, another joy for him is the election of his son Asmith Reddy as the Tadipathri MLA. Tadipathri is a faction-hit area and the JC family has been in state politics for the past four decades.
During the YSRC term, the JC family had faced many criminal cases including an ED case pertaining to purchasing some B-IV vehicles.
Prabhakar Reddy’s wife and son were also named in the case, based on a complaint by Anantapur RTA authorities. RTA said the registration of the vehicles was done by producing fake documents in Nagaland etc.
The JC family-owned Diwakar Travels had faced severe jolt in this context and the family reportedly stopped the plying of buses including interstate travels. A large number of buses were dumped in the shed in the Gooty Road area in Anantapur for the past four years after a series of raids by RTA teams.
Further, Prabhakar Reddy was arrested and is facing criminal cases in and around Tadipathri.
The municipal chairman had taken an oath not to shave his beard till the TD was voted to power and till his family got a clean chit vis-a-vis the “false” cases allegedly registered during the YSRC period.
Prabhakar Reddy is temporarily residing in Anantapur following court directions not to enter Tadipathri following violence during the polling time. He is also planning to send legal notices to the officials including RTA over the filing of “false” cases against the family members.
