Andhra Pradesh: Preparations On for Duleep Trophy Cricket Tournament

 Anantapur: Extensive preparations are underway for the Duleep Trophy Cricket Tournament, which will be held from September 5 to 22 at Anantapur Cricket Grounds. Mancho Ferrer, a member of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) three-man committee and RDT programme director, confirmed the comprehensive arrangements.

During a media conference on Thursday, Duleep Trophy Organising Committee secretary K.S. Shabuddin, ADCA secretary K. Madhu Achari, and committee members Pagadala Mallikarjuna and Jonna Jayaprakash detailed the tournament schedule. The 2024 Duleep Trophy will feature five matches at Anantapur Sports Academy, with the opening match between Team A and Team B taking place at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. All subsequent matches will be held in Anantapur.

The fixtures include Team C versus Team D from September 5 to 8 , Team A against Team D from September 12 to 15 , and Team B facing Team C from September 12 to 15 at B Ground. The tournament continues with Team A versus Team C from September 19 to 22 and Team B against Team D during the same period at B Ground.

For the first time in Anantapur’s cricket history, matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports by the BCCI. Teams and officials are expected to arrive on the evening of September 2 . A total of 4,000 passes will be issued each day, with distribution starting at 11. 00 am on August 31 at the RDT Sports Centre in Anantapur Sports Village. There will be one counter available each day for pass collection, with gates opening at 8.30 am and closes at 10. 30 am on match days.
