Andhra Pradesh: Relief to Rains/Floods-hit People Enhanced

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a special package, enhancing the assistance/relief to certain damaged/lost items of the flood-affected families/persons during the August/Sept period. Revenue special chief secretary Sisodia issued an order to this effect here on Monday.

Accordingly, submerged ground floor houses in 179 Sachivalayams in Vijayawada would get enhanced relief of Rs.25,000 per house – up from the earlier promise of Rs.11,000.

The first floor and above residences would get Rs.10,000 – an increase of Rs.5,000.

Submerged ground floor / partly damaged houses in other parts of state would get Rs.10,000 instead of Rs.5,000. Small establishments would get Rs.25,000, registered trade establishments and MSMEs with a turnover of less than Rs.40 lakh to get Rs.50,000, those with a turnover between Rs.40 lakh and Rs.1.5 crore would get Rs.1 lakh and those with a turnover of over Rs.1.5 crore would get Rs.1.50 lakh as enhanced relief.

Damaged two-wheelers would get a relief of Rs.3,000 per vehicle; damaged motorised three-wheelers would get Rs.10,000 instead of Rs.5,000; push carts would get Rs.20,000 instead of Rs.5,000; and weavers would get Rs.25,000 instead of Rs.10,000.

For loss of raw materials, the assistance has been raised to Rs.10,000 from Rs.5,000 per artisan. Fishing boats with net would get Rs.9,000 instead of Rs.6,000. For repair of partially damaged net, the assistance is Rs.5,000 instead of Rs.3,000.

For replacement of fully damaged or lost net, the assistance is Rs.10,000 – a raise from Rs.5,000. Fishing boats (non-motorised) with net would get Rs.20,000 instead of Rs.15,000. Fishing boats (motorised) with nets would get `25,000 instead of `20,000. For fish farms’ restoration/repair, the assistance is Rs.18,000 per ha; sericulture farmers to get Rs.25,000 instead of the earlier promise of Rs.6,000 per ha; livestock (cows and buffaloes) `50,000 instead of the `37,500 per animal; livestock (blocks) Rs.40,000 instead of Rs.32,000 per animal; livestock (calves) Rs.25,000 per animal instead of Rs.20,000; livestock (sheep/goat) Rs.7,500 instead of `4,000 per animal and livestock (poultry) `100 per bird subject to a ceiling of Rs.10,000 per beneficiary in a household.

As for agriculture: For cotton, groundnut, paddy and sugarcane, first crop, Rs.25,000 instead of 17,000 per ha. For bajra, black gram, green gram, maize, ragi, red gram, seasamum, soybean, sunflower, tobacco, castor, jute, korra and sama, the assistance would be Rs.15,000 per ha.

Horticulture crops like bananas would get Rs.35,000 instead of the previously promised Rs.25,000 per ha and vegetables would get `25,000, up from the `17,000 per ha.
