Visakhapatnam: Tekkali police in Srikakulam on Saturday issued a notice to Duvvada Vani, wife of MLC Duvvada Srinivas, her husband, under Section 41 on charges of trespassing into the house of the MLC.

However, she refused to accept the notice stating that she would consult her lawyer before receiving the notice. She rather demanded the police to issue a notice to her husband Srinivas against whom she filed cases under 498 A and others.

"We have written to the legislative council chairman seeking his permission to initiate action against Srinvasa. Action would be taken based on the response,’’ Tekkali town sub-inspector P Paidiaah said.

Meanwhile, Duvvada Srinivas continued to stay holed up in his home for the consecutive 10 day on Saturday as his wife Duvvada Vani and elder daughter Haindavi refused to call off their stir which they started by pitching a tent in front of his house.

It may be recalled that Vani leveled allegations against her husband Srinivas that he was having an illegal affair with Madhuri, another woman of the town. Allegations and counter allegations filled the social media during last week causing embarrassment to 60-year-old MLC. Vani and her daughter tried to barge into the house but it was foiled, followed by their dharna.
